SAYING YES TO GOD: A WEEKEND RETREAT back

June 23 - June 25, 2017

Theme:  SAYING YES TO GOD.  Psalm 27 expresses our heart-cry: “Your face, Beloved, do I seek.  Do not hide your face from me!”   An incredible Yes was given -- the eternal One came to live among us to share the joys, trials, and sufferings of life.  Jesus came into the world as a radical Yes of divine Love and demonstrated a divine way of being human.  Shepherd, companion, teacher, servant leader, preacher, healer — all in communion with the mysterious power of Abba’s divine will.   In this time of turmoil and confusion, we are invited to respond with our radical Yes of love.  In the holiness of silence and spiritual community,  amid the bright beauty of summer, let us come to rest and pray and grow in courage and trust. Let us explore those places in our lives where God is calling us to a deeper communion, to enjoy the freedom of Yes, to gently hold our questions —questions that are important steps on the sacred journey of Yes.

Leader: Ann Dean is a spiritual director and Program Director at the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation. A member of the Dayspring Retreat Mission Group, she has been leading retreats for 25 years.  (Rev. Fay Acker was originally scheduled to lead this retreat but is unable to do so.)

Open Retreat.

Weekend retreats run Friday dinner through Sunday lunch. The silence begins Friday night after dinner when the leader opens the retreat and introduces the theme. The leader usually offers brief reflections with morning and evening prayers on Saturday. The silence ends after breakfast Sunday morning with a time of sharing and worship, followed by lunch and departure.

You must be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus in order to attend weekend retreats.  We are requiring that masks be worn indoors except when dining or in your personal room.

The cost for weekend retreats is $250.  A $100 deposit is required to register.  (Let us know if you need financial assistance.)  To reserve a space email Nat Reid at office@dayspringretreat.org, or send a check with a note indicating which retreat you wish to register for.

Dinner on Friday at 7 pm is the first official gathering. You are welcome to arrive and settle in between 3:30 and 6:30 pm on Friday. The retreat will end by 2 pm on Sunday.  Please plan to stay for the entire retreat.
