"Coming Home", an Online Retreat.
We approach nature’s beauty with reverence and awe; and in doing so, we find our true home in Presence.
At Dayspring we catch glimpses of God in beautiful ponds, woods, beloved creatures, and one another. Near where I live, just north of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, Mount Tamalpais rises majestically from the heart of Marin County in California. Its deep canyons and sweeping hillsides are cloaked with cool redwood forests, oak woodlands, open grasslands, and sturdy chaparral. The Beloved speaks and says:
“Arise, my love, and come away.”
On this silent retreat, we will draw upon readings from Robert Hamma’s book, Earth’s Echo: Sacred Encounters with Nature, and follow his interpretation of Lectio Divina: paying attention, pondering, responding, and surrendering. Through silence, contemplation, reflection, and sharing, we will explore the question Yaweh posed to Elijah in 1 Kings 19: “What are you doing on this mountain?”
Leader: Kevin Omi is a United Church of Christ pastor, spiritual director, and retreat leader, and serves on the staff of the Shalem Institute's Transforming Community Program.
Zoom retreats are online silent retreats. They usually consist of an opening session with a reflection by the leader, an optional midday session, and a closing session which includes a time for small group sharing. A Zoom link will be sent to you when you register for the retreat.
